Uranium fission was designed to produce plutonium for the first nuclear bombs. The most toxic substance known to man. Which it sprays over a continent every 25 year or more. Think Windscale, 3 Mile Island, Chernobyl and Fukishima.
Fukishima would have have happened as badly, had the safety recommendations after Chernobyl been done. They weren't – as nuclear power thought them too dear.
We live in a time of global terrorism, and to make nuclear plants safe, requires equipment costing 10 times as much as building the plant cost.
Nuclear plants are designed to wear out after 25 years. So all the Magnox stations in Scotland should have been shut down in the 1989s.
Hinckley point make an operating loss, and only had planning until 1990. Nuclear power keeps the plant working, far after its safe working life had ended, to circumvent the Royal commission that would be appropriate for a new site.
As the existing plant should have ended production 26 years ago, legally its operation is illegal – so a Royal commission is appropriate now: stop Hinckley point. Fukishima shows the toxic legacy is worse in aged plants.
After Fukishima every operating uranium fission plant requires insurance of 100 billion. No insurance is available above 1 billion. This is a sure sign o0f the toxic nature of the plant.
Plants take in CO2, down to the limit – now 2 parts per million. In the Jurassic it was 4ppm in a warm period. It had 3 natural ice ages. When CO2 ROSE to 8ppm. 1 ice-age lasting 650 million years.
Today CO2 above the Poles is 4ppm. And temperatures down to -50oC. We can do nuclear fusion now – like nature does.
Every 3 minutes, heavy rain does enough nuclear fusion to set up a lightening strike.
Constantly around the Earth – for free. 5,000 V gives us a lightening strike – a partial steam plasma between the cloud tops, where the He2+ collects, and the ground – where the negative collects.
So the down strike takes ½ MW – from the nuclear fusion being done by the rain. This discharges 100 amps of charge electrons – which releases sound, light, X-rays and makes 5 tonnes of He gas. Which translates to 2.5x1030 W.
Steam plasma tubes are lightening in a tube – we use the electronics from a fluorescent light. Which self sustain at 4 atmospheres. We get 1.2 MW from a 50x1cm steam tube. Which produces over 200kW of electricity. And can be done safely in your garage – no insurance required.
Just an electric hammer to collapse the plasma, and stop the nuclear fusion – no run away possible. No China syndrome.
We take off 0.2% of the generated power, to run a little Carnot heat exchanger and cycle the heat of the steam around. So we get 1MW of power – in you garage. Producing the power for 125 power users – from regular water.
Giving you an income of 30 million a year. Hence the UK government has kicked Hinckley C back into the long grass of legal supervision.
It is very simple! Nuclear power is the 4th biggest producer of cO2 in the world – through its rapid turn over of plants. Molecular Nuclear Fusion produced carbon free heat – at 32 times the thermal efficiency of hyper toxic uranium fission.
We produce no toxic plutonium or strontium. We require no impossibly high insurance. So the plant operators would construct the plant, but the power station regulator would never issue an operating licence: no valid insurance, no facility to handle its toxic waste.
And Molecular Nuclear Fusion turns regular water into massive, free, clean carbon 0 heat. So Hinckley C would be the biggest engineering white elephant ever. It could never start up.
The insurance and waste problems apply to Sizewell B: which was constructed while the UK government carried the insurance. Since privatisation under Tony Blair, Sizewell B has operated I,illegally.
And the Power station regulator must issue immediate stop orders in 1996. 10 years in jail for the plant managers and negligent regulators are in order.
The plant can be restarted using 1mx2cmn steam plasma tubes – which generate 8.6MW each – 32 times the efficiency of U fission rods. No toxic, free and carbon 0 power.
All Uranium fission must stop – as it is under-insured, and no capacity to handle the waste.
